Spotify | The Game Plan

THE GOAL

We aimed to spruce up 'The Game Plan' for Spotify, a pre-existing live-action series. Now, the goal was to make it a 3D showstopper, enabling it to be made in a remote, pandemic-safe format. And most importantly, our goal was to enlighten and inspire artists to unlock their careers with Spotify’s analytical tools.

SOME CHALLENGES

In the thick of the pandemic, our team mobilized to remotely capture interviews with musicians, industry experts, and Spotify employees all over the world, while still staying true to the originally established visual language of the series.

THE RESULT

A jazzed-up series, now in brilliant 3D. We created nearly 20 minutes of 3D animation across four episodes, executing the goal of explaining how the using Spotify for Artist tools can unlock success for up-and-coming artists.

COMPLEX x Stem | The Other Half

Talent is only half of the key to success in the music industry. The other half is business strategy. The Other Half is a TikTok native series that goes behind-the-scenes with artists about how they earn their paychecks.

We flew out to LA to meet up with JELEEL!, Aries, Emotional Oranges and Junior Varsity to see if we could get a bit more info about how they've gotten to where they are in the industry.

Some shared stories about their social media strategy, some spoke about faking insurance applications for cheaper COIs. We learned that there was no clear-cut path to making it. They all found their unique way to success.

Spotify | The Input

My role:

Head of Production (responsible for bidding, post producing)

The Input is an educational series we created soup-to-nuts for the Spotify for Podcasters team, aimed at helping podcasters maximize their potential on Spotify.

Through imaginative and lighthearted 2D character animation, we follow host, X (now the voice of Spotify’s AI DJ), as he picks the brains of industry experts at Spotify.

Inspired by the topics of each episode, we created playful environments for the characters to explore—outer space, aboard a pirate ship, in the depths of an Atlantis-inspired underwater city, and on the set of a game show film set—a nod to the possibilities of podcasting on Spotify.

America's Test Kitchen Kids | Food Science

America's Test Kitchen chose to complement their cookbook with animated recipe videos, a strategic decision to enhance the learning experience for kids. Animation is a powerful tool in education, especially for young learners. It can simplify complex concepts and it holds the attention of children more effectively than traditional teaching methods, catering to modern learning styles.

By animating the science behind cooking, we transform abstract scientific principles into visual, easy-to-understand narratives. Understanding the 'why' behind cooking processes — like why yeast makes dough rise — can foster a deeper interest in science and critical thinking. Not to mention, it fosters a love for cooking! We love food, so that works for us.
